[icecast] Is there a guide?

It didn't compile, I have no idea where I went wrong, I'm not sure if I
checked out the CVS properly, if I'm missing something else, or if I was even
doing the right things to get it downloaded and compiled. (ak.a. I have no
idea, I can only find icecast v1 info on the net).
Thus a guide along the lines of: "to checkout this module from cvs type
this......" going through getting all the source and then "make"
"./configure" "autoconf" "make install" and all those steps. A quick summary
basically would be ideal.
I'm also wondering what info is out there for darkice?
