it's all up to you/ your needs .

ice/icecast will give you solid .mp3 playlist streaming ..

ices2/icecast2 (from xiph.org / cvs_ ices/icecast/et al. .) .. this will
give you ogg vorbis live streaming as well as mp3/ogg static playback .
and i'm sure it'll support playlists ..
:: this one will definately give you better performance/ quality , but its
somewhat more involved to setup ..
