This sounds a bit weird.

OK, so this is a Centos6 installation.

The kernel is not so important. The important bit is Centos6.
You should familiarize yourself with EPEL:
http://fedoraproject.org/wiki/EPEL#How_can_I_use_these_extra_packages.3F
Once you have enabled that, you can just install Icecast through your
package manager. The package manager should then also resolve any
dependencies, like curl.
