As already mentioned upload speed will be different from download speed

These messages are because the client is not reading the data quick
enough so you get an increasing amount of unread data building up and
icecast drops the connection after a certain amount.

Measure the download rate, it should be about the stream bitrate, the
fact that media player seems ok would indicate that there is no network
issue and therefore something specific to winamp.
