For those interested, there is a DASH sink plugin for GStreamer that I
wrote some months ago [1]
It's a sink plugin that's able to generate multibitrate MPD's for
fragmented MP4 and MPEG-TS for the basic on-demand profile.
In my tests I was able to generate a multibirate DASH representation
from a live source or a local file using H264 and fMP4 and I was able
to play it back with vlc.
It should be fairly easy to add support for WebM too.
