      May be I was not as clear as I should, I mean that the <i>frontend
      </i>(FLAC frontend-NET40.exe), when clicking on the button About,
      displays its own version, 2.1, and that of the codec, and even
      having installed the 1.3.3 codec from the site Martijn and you
      suggested, the frontend still informs 1.3.0. <br>

      But when the codec flac.exe is run directly from the command line
      in a cmd window (without intermediation of the frontend), the </font><font
      face="Courier New">declared </font><font face="Courier New">version
      is the correct one, 1.3.3. <br>
      <br>
      Anyway, it is not so important, I just wanted to be sure.<br>

      The frontend has no knowledge of the version being used. The
      command window that pops up displays the information directly from
      the encoder so, the version you have downloaded that claims to be
      1.3.2 is displaying 1.3.0 when it is executed. This may simply be
      that the character string in the encoder wasn't updated when the
      library was. However, as Martijn indicated, if you visit <a

      you can download 1.3.3 which does display correctly as I have

releases indeed do not have a FLAC 1.3.3 executable for Windows. If
you're looking for a recent windows compile, I´d recommend looking at
