Yes, you are correct. Clearly the FLAC version is hard-coded into
the frontend which is the source of your confusion. Trust what the
encoder indicates, not the frontend ;-).<br>

May be I was not as clear as I should, I mean that the <i>frontend
</i>(FLAC frontend-NET40.exe), when clicking on the button
About, displays its own version, 2.1, and that of the codec, and
even having installed the 1.3.3 codec from the site Martijn and
you suggested, the frontend still informs 1.3.0. <br>
<br>
But when the codec flac.exe is run directly from the command
line in a cmd window (without intermediation of the frontend),
the </font><font face="Courier New">declared </font><font

Anyway, it is not so important, I just wanted to be sure.<br>

The frontend has no knowledge of the version being used. The
command window that pops up displays the information directly
from the encoder so, the version you have downloaded that claims
to be 1.3.2 is displaying 1.3.0 when it is executed. This may
simply be that the character string in the encoder wasn't
updated when the library was. However, as Martijn indicated, if
you visit <a class="moz-txt-link-freetext"
href="https://www.rarewares.org/lossless.php"
moz-do-not-send="true">https://www.rarewares.org/lossless.php</a>
you can download 1.3.3 which does display correctly as I have
checked it myself.<br>

<pre class="moz-quote-pre" wrap="">The frontend hasn´t been updated for quite some time now. The xiph
