As someone who both owns a mac and has a lot* of flacs, I can say that
I'd like to use the ogg container in the future (assuming that software
starts to support it), but that not having the ability to play "raw"
flacs would cripple iTunes** for everything out there now.  Well, *is* 
crippling iTunes :-)  So, to directly answer your question, having an
'ogg' component that transparently decodes vorbis/flac/speex/etc would
be awesome***.  But for right now, just having a flac component would allow
me to finally have only one player for all my audio, which would be a
wonderful thing...

*On the order of 250 burned cds full of 'em

**yes, I realize a qt component would open up more things than just
iTunes playback of my Phish collection, but all I can speak for is how
*I* use it...

*** hard to overstate how awesome that would be.  If that's your
eventual goal, rock on!
