Well, egg on my face... I just looked at the code, and I have only
written 16bps support into the plugin.  From scraping my memory,
I think this was because I couldn't find enough info on how to
format the unencoded audio data when passing it up to the player
and the only example I had was for 16bps stereo.  I'll look for some
more code somewhere or maybe just play some roulette with the data
to see what works.
