+<p>Xiph.Org is pleased to announce that after more than two years of
+development, we've released Opus 1.1.
+
+<p>The 1.1 release includes:

+<li>New analysis code and tuning that significantly improves encoding
+quality, especially for variable-bitrate (VBR)
+<li>Automatic, dynamic detection of speech or music to decide the optimal encoding mode on the fly
+<li>Additional surround tuning for 5.1 and
+7.1 encoding from 45kbps (that's <em>total</em> bitrate, not
+per-channel), and high quality surround starting at around
+128kbps.
+<li>Speed improvements on all architectures, especially ARM, where
+decoding uses around 40% less CPU and encoding uses around 30% less CPU.
