+<p>The <a href="/cortado/">Cortado</a> java applet is a pure java 
+implementation of a Theora decoder. Originally developed by the
+folks at <a href="http://fluendo.com/">Fluendo S.A.</a>, and
+subsequently developed by <a href="http://http://wikimedia.org/">Wikimedia</a>,
+upstream stewardship was recently passed to Xiph.org.</p>

+<p>Cortado has been used for many years as a way to support free
+media content on the web, and is still an important component
+as a fallback for browsers which don't yet support Ogg audio and
