I'd actually like an additional "g" in there where supported:
.oggv for video (.ogv where not supported)
.ogga for audio (.oga where not supported)
.ogg for Ogg Vorbis (and for generic/unspecified content)
and maybe even .oggn for non-audio, non-video so that .ogg (which IMO
is pretty much synonymous to Ogg Vorbis) doesn't get too cluttered.
Are there any types of (Ogg) audio that aren't really supposed to
be handled by a music player?
Think typical PCM .wav vs. Ogg Vorbis content.
Can that sort of content be defined so well that another extension
is appropriate?
I don't think there are different types of video content with that
sort of distinction, is there?
Just my 0.02€, not that anyone cares.
