I note in passing that experimental artists Einstuerzende Neubauten
<http://www.neubauten.org/> are going it alone without a record label,
and are instead appealing directly to their fans and potential listeners
through the web.  Their for-pay downloads section features a number of
tracks in MP3, WAV and Ogg Vorbis formats.
