Promising, maybe, not really exciting, yet. But definitely something we
might be able to work with, i.e. work for? The ability to play RealMedia
in truly open players might attract more people to freedom; a detour to
Vorbis. Also, being able to use maybe-free-soon (depends all on the
licenses) technology from Real, like their protocols, might make Vorbis
even more compatible and powerful.

This might be worth having an eye on. If Real, despite their annoying
player, ends up as a trustworthy and valuable partner to the free
software community, they might even get quite a lot from all this for
themselves.
