There is a free timestamping service available, mentoned earlier, but
it would be good if this kind of technology could be officially
integrated with Ogg tools. Assuming that this kind of service is
actually wanted by content creators, rather than being just a
theoretical benefit.

There is already a free software project for signed email, sponsored
by the German government for their own use:

I think the problem is that we are several steps ahead of the
mainstream here - the assumption that proprietary pay-to-play formats
are the future of digital media hasn't been defeated, yet.
