Note that role isn't normatively in HTML5 at all at this point,  
although it's expected that it will be. The document you are referring  
to is pulling data from an experimental schema.

To keep things clear, I recommend against using overloading role to do  
non-ARIA things in HTML5 (regardless of what the original design of  
role was in another context).
